GALAXY FOODS EXPANDS TECHNICAL STAFF WITH 2ND Ph.D.
ORLANDO, FLORIDA (June 30, 1999) - Galaxy Foods Company (NASDAQ: GALX), makers of healthy cheese and dairy-related products, today announced the appointment of Dr. Steven Zeng, Food Scientist, to its Technical Services staff.
Dr. Zeng began his career in 1986 conducting research in microbiological quality of dairy products including milk and cheese at Mississippi State University. In 1989, he received a Master of Science Degree in Dairy Manufacturing from the University, and in 1992 received his doctorate from Clemson University graduating with honors. Thereafter, Dr. Zeng presented and published research findings at national and international conferences based on research conducted in quality control and microbiology of milk and dairy products at Langston University while teaching food science classes. In addition, he managed a university pilot plant while developing new dairy products. Dr. Zeng has worked closely with the FDA and state regulators, and has conducted cheese making workshops and other dairy demonstrations. In 1995, he established a certified improvement laboratory and has been managing the laboratory since.
